Animal Crossing has been on the rise worldwide.
It became Nintendo’s darling by pushing the company’s profits to over 400 percent, and its not loved by just the giant game conglomerate. Even us everyday folks are loving it.
Heck, it helped police officers in Taipei reunite a lost Nintendo Switch with its owner. Can your point-and-shoot game do that? No hate to point-and-shooters, it’s just not my thing.
And thanks to IKEA, even if you don’t have a Switch of your own, you can have sprinkles of Animal Crossing throughout your home.
Instead, the company is drawing inspiration from the game to give you stylish inspiration for your home sweet home.
IKEA recently released its 2021 catalogue, and as usual everything is #housegoals for everything you would want your house to look like.
But this time, IKEA Taiwan is cheekily playing tribute to the game by recreating the contemporary housing arrangements in the game itself and comparing it to its catalgoue.
Check out how cute everything looks!
Of course, not everything is recreated in true one-to-one scale.
But you gotta admit, the efforts of the IKEA designers certainly deserve to receive kudos!
My personal favorite detail is how they try to incorporate their own in-game island representatives as models to replace the ones in IKEA’s catalogue.
Simply adorable if you ask me.
The way they recreated small details into the game is just so on point!
Just like how you must go through several DIY recipe cards and pop random balloons in hopes of finding the perfect wardrobe for your room in Animal Crossing, you have to wander through the endless maze that is an IKEA warehouse just to find a chair that you have to assemble yourself.
So basically, IKEA is a real-life Animal Crossing simulator.
The catalogue is not an official collaboration with Nintendo, however, so let’s hope they don’t encounter any lawsuits over this cute tribute.
